![]() ![]() I’ve read many books by Halle and you never know quite what you’re going to get. As Grace falls for Claudio, his son, and Italy, it all seems too good to be true. But two unexpected housemates – her book agent’s ex-husband and son – make the getaway a completely different experience than expected. When Grace’s book agent offers to let her use an Italian villa for a month, it seems like the perfect opportunity to find inspiration from the beautiful location. Following the death of that partner, she’s struggling with her career. ![]() The story follows Grace, an author who has always worked with a writing partner. Things turn (almost too) heated, and then it’s full steam ahead – pun intended. ![]() That being said… there’s none of that in the back half. I will say that I found the first half to be a bit slow not so much a slow burn as just kinda serious. I also loved the descriptions of Italy, which really make you feel like you’re on vacation right alongside our heroine. Paired with a bookish author who needs to gain some confidence, these two burn up with chemistry in the back half. He’s a little too mysterious for me in the beginning, but once the reader gets to know Claudio better, there’s no way you won’t love him. I loved this hero – a single dad who isn’t afraid of being open about his feelings. This is the perfect vacation escapism everyone needs in their life, complete with a sexy Italian artist who is both loving and demanding. ![]()
